This is a fascinating read from David Henshaw on the background story of the Brompton bicycle, detailing everything from the very early days of the bikes inception and prototyping to the modern risks of being a fashion product and overlooking key engineering enhancements. Although not strictly an electric bicycle book, it touches on the challenges Brompton has faced in bringing an electric version to market, and gives great insight on the history of folding bikes in general, and how a bike company can both survive and thrive while still doing most manufacturing in house.
